Rick and Morty
Created & executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community) & Justin Roiland (Adventure Time), the half-hour animated series follows a brilliant but sociopathic genius scientist Rick Sanchez who drags his inherently timid & bewildered grandson Morty on insanely dangerous trans-dimensional adventures across the universe.
Since its premiere on Adult Swim in 2013 the show has acquired huge critical acclaim & cult status. The 3rd season’s unannounced shock premiere on April Fool’s Day in 2017 received 3m visitors through livestreams as well as 8.7m views & 43.3m impressions on Facebook.
The season 3 finale achieved the highest ratings in the history of Adult Swim, (Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering animated & live-action series for young adults with persons 18-34 & 18-49).
MacDonald’s even put a limited supply of Szechuan sauce (originally created for Walt Disney’s Mulan in 1998) back on the menu after gaining popularity from the show.
The brand new and highly anticipated fourth series of Emmy, Critic’s Choice and IGN award-winning Rick and Morty will make its UK premiere on Channel 4, with the first three series airing on E4 from February – the first time ever on free-to-air UK television. This is part of a new brand partnership that will also see hundreds of hours of Adult Swim content being made available to stream for free on All 4.
Described as “the world’s most ingenious animation” (Guardian), and “one of the best shows on television” (Vulture), UK viewers can get up to speed with the duo’s universe-hopping antics on E4. Series 1 to 3 will have the UK flying around Anatomy Park, turning into sentient pickles and bingeing on Interdimensional Cable with our favourite terrified grandson and maniacal genius grandfather from February.
