At Dreamtex we recognise that we have a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements.  We aim to follow, develop and champion good sustainable practice and reduce the environmental impacts of our activities through product innovation, packaging and recycling, fair and ethical operations, transportation and carbon footprint, and membership of sustainability initiatives such as the Products of Change organisation and Sustainability In Licensing Conference.

Championing Sustainability Ideas

Dreamtex are proud to be an official supporter of the Sustainability in Licensing Conference which aims to create a sustainability conversation between all elements of the licensing industry.  Sharing ideas and best practices from retailers, licensors, licensees and suppliers will help Dreamtex and our colleagues on the sustainability journey.

In addition, Dreamtex is looking forward to driving sustainable change in the Licensing Industry by working with the organisation Products of Change. As a company, we are committed to using sustainable materials in the manufacturing of our bedding and continue to explore opportunities with brands and retailers to help protect the future of our planet.

Production Innovation

We are innovating our product offering by utilising new fabrics and fibres that allow us to recycle and reuse items that would otherwise be sent to landfill. We are proud to be full members of The Better Cotton Initiative and have been using this sustainable fabric in many of our products. Better Cotton is sourced via a system of mass balance and is not physically traceable to end products. We are committed to sourcing 100% of our cotton as Better Cotton as part of our long term sustainability strategy.

In a first for the UK, our award-winning National Geographic collection was made using Repreve® recycled plastic fibre in our cotton mix cloth.  Single and double duvet cover sets contain up to 12 and 18 recycled plastic bottles respectively, with no compromise on comfort, quality or durability. This initiative is now being rolled out across other brands in our portfolio.

Packaging and Recycling

Dreamtex is a partner of WRAP and a member of OPRL (On Pack Recycling Label) which help to empower customers with the knowledge of how and when to recycle our packaging correctly at home.

We are continuing to explore new ways of packaging our products and stripping back unnecessary materials as much as possible.

Fair and Ethical Operations

Dreamtex is a member of SEDEX and working closely with international suppliers, we require annual social audits of the facilities associated with our products, focussing on areas such as health and safety, the environment, child labour, discrimination and working hours and wages.

Transportation and Carbon Footprint

2020 has made us review the way we operate as a company and this has led to some positive gains in reducing our carbon footprint and the long-term development of working practices by using alternative methods of meeting people, such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and webinars.

We have also implemented alternative working arrangements for employees such as home working, which has lessened the need for commuting.
