The Elf on the Shelf®
The Elf on the Shelf® is a Scout Elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus know who is naughty & who is nice. When a family adopts a Scout Elf (purchased from a Santa-approved adoption centre), they receive the Scout Elf, a watercolour storybook & a keepsake box.
According to tradition, when a family names their Elf, the Elf receives his or her Christmas magic & can fly to the North Pole each night to check in with Santa Claus. Each morning, the Elf returns to his or her family & perches in a different place to watch the day’s fun.
Children love to wake up & race around the house looking for the Elf each morning. Scout Elves typically appear in their families’ homes around Thanksgiving. On Christmas Eve, the Elves return to the North Pole with Santa Claus.
